Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit, using telemetry and clinical judgment to detect changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care in the patient record
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to create and update individualized care plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to patient emergencies and escalation events
• Perform specialty-specific competency tasks and participate in Trinity skills checklists as required
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning to support positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate license/certification documentation and complete required health screenings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to verify license/certification required)
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; TNCC and NIHSS listed and expected
• Comfort and experience working with telemetry monitoring and Med/Surg patient populations
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and unit skills checklist
• Required personal health clearances: immunizations, drug screen, fit test and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Strong Med/Surg nursing knowledge and clinical assessment abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Critical thinking and prioritization in fast-paced patient care situations
• Familiarity with unit-specific competency testing processes
