Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with attention to patient safety and image accuracy
• Operate CT and radiographic equipment, including mobile units, ensuring proper technique and radiation safety
• Prepare patients for procedures, perform venipuncture and IV starts for contrast when required
• Verify patient identity and clinical indications, and document findings accurately in the electronic record
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to optimize imaging protocols and patient flow
• Maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations, including proper handling of fluoroscopy permits
• Maintain equipment and supplies, troubleshoot minor issues, and report major equipment concerns
• Participate in competency testing and quality assurance activities to support excellent patient care

Qualifications

• ARRT-R certification required
• CT ARRT certification required
• Fluoroscopy permit as required by the State of Texas
• Active State radiologic technologist licensure
• Current BCLS (AHA) required
• Venipuncture certificate and proficiency in IV starts for contrast injections
• At least one year of radiology technologist experience preferred, with acute clinical radiology experience preferred
• Familiarity with State and Federal regulations and ability to complete required onboarding checks and health screenings

Education

• Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to support accurate imaging
• Proficient computer skills for electronic charting and imaging systems
• Expertise with mobile and stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
• Skilled in CT imaging protocols and radiation safety practices
• Effective communication and patient care skills, especially for anxious or pediatric patients
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
