Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, mobility, and independence
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and the care team to coordinate holistic patient care
- Document progress clearly and timely to support treatment decisions and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and assistive devices
- Adjust treatment plans based on outcomes, physician input, and patient goals
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in California, or eligible to obtain state licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or able to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable working in an inpatient rehabilitation/contract facility setting
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills — you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary crew
Education
- Entry-level degree in Occupational Therapy (BS/OT, MS/OT, or OTD) as required for licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment prescription
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based OT interventions
- Proficient with electronic medical records and timely documentation
- Ability to set measurable goals and track patient progress
- Strong problem-solving skills and a patient-centered approach
