Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and educational needs using solid clinical judgment
• Plan and implement individualized nursing care, focusing on patient and family-centered goals
• Perform appropriate telemetry monitoring and intervene based on cardiac and clinical changes
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans proactively
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise care across teams to maintain safe, efficient workflows
• Document care and clinical findings accurately in the Paragon EMR (or hospital charting system)
• Float between telemetry and med-surg units (CSU, 3 South, 4 South, 3 West, 4 West, IPR) to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license — verification through LARA and Nursys required
• Minimum 3+ years telemetry nursing experience (required)
• Completion of at least 1 prior travel nurse assignment (required)
• BLS certification (required); ACLS is preferred
• Paragon EMR experience is a plus
• Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties
• Reliable attendance and punctuality — McLaren Macomb enforces a strict 3-strike attendance policy
• Ability to float across telemetry and med-surg units and work holiday shifts

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required; Associate degree or BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and cardiac monitoring interpretation
• Patient assessment, nursing care planning, and targeted nursing interventions
• Evaluating patient responses and adjusting care plans effectively
• Patient- and family-centered care with strong communication skills
• Delegation, coordination, and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
• Familiarity with Paragon EMR for documentation and charting
• Professional compliance with hospital policy and regulatory standards
