Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care for assigned patients
• Use Epic to accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient education
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Perform timely assessments, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain required competencies and complete Trinity specialty-specific competency testing
• Ensure compliance with infection control, immunization, and screening requirements
• Support smooth patient throughput with clear communication during handoffs and every third-weekend coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure verification required)
• Medical-surgical nursing experience (Epic experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity specialty competency testing
• Ability to complete required health screenings (2-step PPD or IGRA, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, fit test, COVID-19 vaccine, 10-panel drug screen, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Epic electronic health record workflows and documentation
• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Skilled in patient stabilization, medication administration, and post-op care
• Effective communicator with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with hospital infection control practices and immunization requirements
• Comfortable with competency-based testing and maintaining specialty-specific skills
