Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, typically 3 nights per week (36 hours/week), Every-Other-Week (EOW) rotation; night shift, may float as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide on-shift leadership as a charge RN, coordinating patient care and staffing decisions
- Mentor and coach clinical staff to promote best practices and high-quality outcomes
- Round on patients, proactively identify safety or service concerns, and escalate appropriately
- Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases and interdisciplinary communication
- Perform charge nurse duties as needed based on census and staffing levels
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and ensure charting completeness
- Promote a positive work environment by supporting staff, addressing interpersonal issues, and modeling professional behavior
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit for assignment)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience (acute/telemetry preferred)
- Must have served as Charge RN in most recent assignment (no first-time travelers)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
- Experience with telemetry patient care and telemetry unit workflows
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Willingness to complete a 3-week orientation (1 week classroom, 2 weeks unit orientation)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry assessment and monitoring skills
- Clinical leadership and charge nurse workflow management
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities
- Ability to mentor and teach staff at the point of care
- Proficiency with electronic charting (Cerner) and documentation standards
- Knowledge of ACLS protocols, stroke assessment (NIHSS), and BLS
