Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Primarily Nights, 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; schedule set by manager with every-other-weekend requirement and holiday coverage as needed. (Unit also staffs 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM day 12-hour shifts; floating between med-surg units may be required.)

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for adult and geriatric med-surg and oncology patients
- Safely administer chemotherapy and manage IV drip titration per unit protocols
- Monitor telemetry and collaborate with telemonitoring techs to respond to changes in patient status
- Assess and manage common acute diagnoses (stroke care, CHF, COPD, A-fib non-RVR, post-ICU care)
- Serve as a dependable team member who can float to other MedSurg units as needed
- Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and support charge nurse coordination
- Document accurately in EPIC and participate in brief bedside handoffs for continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (appropriate state licensure to work in North Dakota)
- BLS required; NIHSS required
- Minimum ~2 years of nursing experience preferred (MedSurg/Telemetry/Oncology experience a plus)
- Comfortable titrating drips (Lasix, Heparin common on unit) and managing IV therapy
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology care preferred (unit core staff do chemo)
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Preferred: experience with trach care and BiPAP; first-time travelers are welcome
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN not required
- Current BLS certification; NIHSS certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- MedSurg and Oncology clinical skills and assessment
- IV drip titration and infusion management
- Telemetry monitoring and basic ECG rhythm recognition (monitor techs support strips)
- Chemotherapy administration protocols and safe handling
- Use of EPIC for documentation and charting
- Team communication, delegation and working with charge nurses and patient care techs
- Troubleshooting BiPAP and established trachs (stability-focused care)
