Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography examinations with precision and compassion
• Operate and maintain mammography and radiology diagnostic equipment safely
• Ensure patient comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing concerns
• Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols and quality assurance standards
• Accurately document images and patient data in PACS and the electronic practice system
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to support timely diagnoses
• Provide clear patient education about imaging procedures and follow-up instructions
• Maintain professional records, complete required orientation and continuing education

Qualifications

• Certified Mammography Technologist - ARRT (M) required
• Medical Radiographer: CA (MRAD:CA) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS - CPR) required
• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• Completion of 40 hours of structured education in Mammography required
• ARRT (RTR) preferred
• One year experience as a Radiologic/Mammography Technologist preferred
• Six months outpatient experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduation from a formal AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• Completion of 40 hours of structured education in Mammography

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography and general radiography principles
• Anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging
• Radiation safety and quality assurance practices
• Operation and care of radiology diagnostic equipment
• Proficiency with PACS and electronic practice management systems
• Medical terminology and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong patient communication and customer service skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in a clinic setting
