Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess critically ill patients and continuously monitor physiologic status using advanced ICU equipment
- Administer medications and titrate infusions safely and according to protocols
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and coordinate emergency interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists and pharmacists to develop and execute care plans
- Perform and document specialty-specific competency tasks and skills checks (Trinity checklists)
- Provide family-centered education and clear communication during high-stress situations
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical record documentation and handoffs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification required
- BLS and ACLS required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist prior to start
- Current fit test, drug screening and updated immunizations as listed (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, influenza, COVID-19, 2-step PPD or IGRA, varicella)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced ICU environment and providing high-acuity care
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care knowledge including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, arterial lines and central venous access care
- Medication administration and titration in critical care settings
- Excellent clinical assessment, prioritization and delegation skills
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
