Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical oncology and hematology care for adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient hospital-based setting
• Manage infusion therapy and collaborate with nursing staff and hospitalists to ensure safe, effective treatment
• Conduct new patient evaluations and follow-up visits with efficient, patient-centered time allocations
• Coordinate care with radiation oncology outreach, primary care providers and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in quality and accreditation efforts, including work toward Commission on Cancer (COC) goals
• Contribute to a supportive clinic environment alongside RNs, MAs, CNAs and administrative staff

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology (required)
• MD or DO degree with completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology
• Active or eligible for Iowa medical license
• Experience in outpatient oncology practice and infusion therapy preferred
• Clean professional liability history preferred; cannot accept candidates with malpractice cases in probate or requiring supervision
• Not accepting locum tenens or visa-sponsored candidates for this opening

Education

• MD or DO with fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical oncology practice and hematology diagnosis/treatment
• Infusion therapy management and coordination with hospital infusion services
• Comfort treating adult and geriatric patient populations
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a hospital-attached outpatient clinic and use ancillary services effectively
• Familiarity with quality improvement and accreditation processes (e.g., COC)
