Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and compassion
• Conduct thorough interview-based evaluations and targeted physical assessments, including range of motion testing
• Assess muscle strength and document objective findings clearly and accurately
• Complete timely medical documentation, reports, addendums, and medical opinions according to VES standards
• Collaborate with VES credentialing/onboarding team to maintain compliance and readiness
• Respect veteran privacy and ensure high standards of clinical professionalism in each one-time, non-treatment exam
• Follow established workflows for exam submission and required administrative follow-up

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified Physician in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the United States
• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or equivalent veteran-focused assessments preferred
• Comfort performing interview-based exams and focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength)
• Ability to complete required onboarding and maintain timely documentation (addendums, medical opinions, reading diagnostics)
• For provider-office option: access to a private office within 50 miles of the listed city
• Willingness to work PRN/per diem assignments and travel locally as needed

Education

• MD or DO (Physician)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medical documentation and report writing with attention to detail
• Skilled in interview techniques and objective functional assessments
• Knowledge of range of motion and muscle strength testing procedures
• Ability to form clear medical opinions and complete addendums when required
• Comfort reading diagnostic reports and integrating findings into assessments
• Veteran-focused assessment experience is a plus
