Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient medical care overnight, managing admissions and acute issues
• Lead and participate in rapid responses and codes, providing calm, decisive leadership
• Manage an average nightly census of 15–18 patients with strong triage and prioritization
• Collaborate closely with ICU teams and Advanced Practice Providers to coordinate care and transitions
• Document thoroughly in the EHR and communicate clear plans to day teams and patient families
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a physician-friendly culture

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an Internal Medicine residency (or equivalent)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine — upcoming 2025 grads working toward BC are welcome
• Active New York medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Comfortable running codes and leading rapid response teams
• Experience working with Advanced Practice Providers is a plus

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (accepting candidates working toward BC)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment in inpatient medicine and overnight management
• Experience leading codes and rapid response situations
• Census management and efficient patient triage under night-shift conditions
• Clear verbal and written communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Proficiency with EHR documentation and inpatient workflows
• Team-oriented approach and ability to collaborate with APPs and ICU colleagues
