Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in General Abdomen, Vascular and OB/GYN specialties
- Operate and optimize ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images
- Work independently to manage patient scheduling, scanning and documentation
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally with physicians and care teams
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images meet ARDMS standards
- Adhere to safety, infection control and facility procedures at all times
- Provide compassionate patient care and education throughout the exam process
Qualifications
- Active ARDMS General (Abdomen) registry required
- Active ARDMS Vascular registry required
- Active ARDMS OB/GYN registry required
- Double-registered in sonography with demonstrated ability to work independently
- Previous hands-on sonography experience in the listed specialties is preferred
Education
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sonographic anatomy and pathology for abdomen, vascular and OB/GYN exams
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, transducers and image optimization
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage time and work autonomously
- Familiarity with documentation standards and diagnostic image archiving
