Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs using standardized assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on independence in activities of daily living
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies
• Document progress thoroughly and communicate updates with the care team and families
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and physicians to coordinate holistic care
• Train patients and caregivers on safe techniques, assistive devices and home strategies
• Contribute to discharge planning and community reintegration goals
• Participate in facility quality initiatives and provide mentorship to support staff

Qualifications

• Active Washington state Occupational Therapist license (required)
• OTR credential or equivalent, in good standing
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Experience in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, or acute care settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT, OTD, or equivalent entry-level degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assessment and therapeutic interventions
• Knowledge of splinting, adaptive equipment and mobility aids
• Comfortable using clinical documentation systems and writing clear progress notes
• Ability to develop measurable goals and track outcomes
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and clinical teams
• Problem-solving mindset and creative approach to adaptive strategies
