Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery care for high-risk antepartum and intrapartum patients, ensuring safety and excellent outcomes
• Perform continuous and external fetal monitoring and promptly recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with surgical procedures including D&C and cervical cerclage
• Support and assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, providing calm leadership in critical moments
• Administer and manage medications such as magnesium sulfate, insulin drips and antihypertensives per protocols
• Document care accurately in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory and rapid response
• Provide compassionate care to neonates and adults, and escalate concerns to the care team when necessary

Qualifications

• Active RN with Labor and Delivery experience; Travel nurse experience required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, no exceptions (HARD STOP)
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (NCC EFM certification accepted in lieu of AWHONN Intermediate)
• AWHONN Advanced is preferred
• Pending licenses are not accepted; travel pairs and first-time travelers are not considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and recognition of abnormal fetal tracings
• Experience in high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery management
• Comfortable with cesarean section circulation and OR workflows
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Medication administration experience including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips and antihypertensives
• Ability to work 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios and adapt to a busy, high-acuity unit
