Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to keep patients safe and stable
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments according to plan of care
• Accurately document care and clinical findings in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Provide patient and family education about cardiac conditions and recovery
• Float to Med-Surg units as needed (Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, ED boarders) to ensure continuity of care
• Demonstrate leadership in emergencies and uphold unit standards and competencies

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Active BLS required
• Active ACLS required
• Current Epic EMR proficiency (no refresher options; must demonstrate proficiency)
• Minimum 3 years of current/recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience
• Must be able to read telemetry (competency testing on day one; inability to pass may result in termination)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac care expertise
• Stepdown and Med-Surg patient management
• Familiarity with Wound Care, Stroke care, Oncology, Respiratory care and Observation
• Experience working with ED/Med-Surg boarders and float duties
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment and documentation skills in Epic EMR
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
