Roles & Responsibilities
- Dispense and verify medications accurately for a central fill pharmacy, ensuring patient safety and compliance
- Review prescriptions and clinical data to identify and resolve potential medication issues
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and operations staff to maintain efficient workflow and timely fills
- Follow state and federal pharmacy laws and facility policies to ensure regulatory compliance
- Participate in orientation and training, sharing best practices and helping onboard newer staff
- Document interventions and maintain clear, professional communication with clinical and administrative teams
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacist license (required)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree (preferred)
- Previous experience in a central fill, retail, or hospital pharmacy preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems and inventory management
- Immunization certification and other relevant certifications a plus
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and facility onboarding requirements
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
- Active California Pharmacist license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in medication dispensing and verification processes
- Knowledge of California pharmacy laws and regulations
- Comfortable with pharmacy information systems and barcode verification
- Strong clinical judgment to identify potential drug interactions or dosing issues
- Good time management and ability to meet productivity targets while maintaining accuracy
- Customer-focused mindset and effective collaboration with technicians and clinical teams
