Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Labor & Delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum and immediate neonatal support
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate and assist during Cesarean sections and support vaginal and high-risk deliveries
• Administer and manage critical medications such as antihypertensives, insulin drips and magnesium sulfate
• Use Epic for accurate electronic charting and clear interdisciplinary communication
• Participate in rapid response and emergent obstetric interventions when needed
• Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory services, radiology and other support disciplines to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain professional certifications and contribute to a culture of safety and quality on a high-risk unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required — hard stop, no exceptions
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate required; AWHONN Advanced preferred (NCC EFM certification may substitute for Intermediate)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR (C-section experience required)
• Experience with high-risk obstetric care and neonatal patients
• Previous travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• Able to work 12-hour day shifts and variable weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in external fetal monitoring and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Comfortable managing insulin drips, antihypertensive therapy and magnesium sulfate
• Experienced in cesarean section assistance and circulating for surgical cases
• Familiar with neonatal care and immediate post-delivery management
• Able to chart accurately in Epic and collaborate across disciplines
• Experience working in large hospital or Magnet-designated environments preferred
