Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Type and Crossmatch testing accurately and efficiently for patient safety
• Run and interpret Complex Antibody Panels to support transfusion decisions
• Conduct Antigen testing and Direct Antiglobulin testing (DAT) with strong attention to detail
• Carry out Fetal Screens and Cord Blood workups to support neonatal care
• Investigate Transfusion Reactions thoroughly and document findings clearly
• Maintain quality control, documentation, and compliance in a very high-volume lab
• Communicate results and consult with clinical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations and support the lab as part of the team

Qualifications

• MT or MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) preferred
• State licensure in Ohio or eligibility to obtain required state licensure
• Hands-on experience in Blood Bank/Transfusion and Hematology in a high-volume setting
• Demonstrated competency with Type and Crossmatch, antibody identification, DAT
• Ability to work afternoon shift hours and participate in weekend/holiday rotations
• Strong attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and effective communication

Education

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology / Clinical Laboratory Science or related field; Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Science preferred
• MT or MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Blood Bank procedures and transfusion medicine best practices
• Hematology fundamentals and laboratory testing workflows
• Type and Crossmatch, Complex Antibody Panels, antibody identification
• Antigen testing and Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT) techniques
• Fetal screening and cord blood processing
• Transfusion reaction investigation and reporting
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems, quality control, and regulatory compliance
