Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients, monitoring and responding to complex changes in condition
• Perform timely assessments and implement evidence-based interventions using ACLS and BLS guidelines
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to create and adjust patient care plans
• Perform neurological assessments and stroke scales (NIHSS) and respond promptly to acute events
• Maintain competency through Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists
• Document patient care accurately and communicate handoffs clearly during shift changes
• Support family education and compassionate communication during critical moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as indicated in the job requirements
• Critical care/ICU experience and comfort working 12+ hour overnight shifts
• Successful completion of required competency testing (Trinity specialty skills and checklists)
• Ability to complete pre-employment health requirements (fit test, drug screen, immunizations/vaccines, 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement)

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing knowledge and ICU protocols
• Proficiency with ACLS and BLS resuscitation algorithms
• Familiarity with trauma nursing principles (TNCC) and stroke assessment (NIHSS)
• Comfort with 12-hour overnight workflows, handoffs, and shift-based coordination
• Ability to learn and demonstrate Trinity-specific competencies and skills checklists
