Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Day: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (3x12), Night: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM (3x12); orientation Week 1 Monday-Friday days; Week 2: 36 hours on-unit with preceptor; schedule rotates every 4-week period; weekends variable based on unit needs

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric oncology patients, ensuring physical and emotional needs are met
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy and related treatments, watching closely for adverse reactions
- Perform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy support, neobladder care, and CBI management
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and intervene promptly to maintain patient safety
- Maintain and troubleshoot central lines, IV therapy, and blood product administration with strict infection prevention practices
- Participate in clinical trials by assisting with data collection, documentation, and protocol adherence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, activate rapid response as needed, and contribute to safe discharge planning
- Accurately document assessments and interventions using EPIC to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience (must meet experience within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology procedures such as brachytherapy preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Comfort with central line maintenance, IV therapy, blood product administration, and infection prevention protocols
- Ability to work rotating shifts and adapt to variable weekend schedules
- Willingness to learn, grow nursing practice, and participate in on-unit orientation and preceptor program
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- EPIC electronic charting and accurate clinical documentation
- Central line maintenance and IV therapy
- Blood product administration
- Infection prevention and patient falls prevention strategies
- Tracheostomy, NG tube, Foley, and feeding tube care
- Experience with PCA pumps, epidurals, and surgical drains
- Familiarity with clinical trial workflows and protocol documentation
- Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
