Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based outpatient oncology nursing care to adults
• Administer IV therapies and infusions safely and accurately
• Perform central line and PICC care, including central line blood draws
• Access, manage and maintain implanted ports
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs as needed
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about treatment, side-effect management, and follow-up
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services and more) to coordinate care
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and high standards of clinical practice
• Contribute to a welcoming clinic environment with strong communication and patient advocacy

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — able to meet state licensure requirements for practice
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an oncology clinic or outpatient oncology setting
• BLS certification (required)
• Proven experience with IV therapy, infusions, central line/PICC and port care
• Experience charting in EPIC (required)
• Comfort managing ~1:10 patient ratios on day shift in an outpatient setting
• Able to complete 24-hour orientation and integrate into clinic workflows quickly

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (as required by the facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of outpatient oncology care and breast cancer patient needs
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and electronic charting
• IV therapy, infusion management, and medication safety
• Central line/PICC line care and central line blood draw techniques
• Port access, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Patient education and therapeutic communication skills
• Basic life support (BLS) and adherence to infection prevention practices
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate care
