Shift Type: Primarily AM 8-hour shifts with occasional PM/off-hour shifts; varied 8-hour schedule with every-other-weekend coverage required; rotating day/evening shifts (day_night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection accurately and compassionately for inpatient acute care patients
- Prepare and label specimens according to protocol to ensure proper testing and tracking
- Assist clinical laboratory staff with basic lab tasks and processing as needed
- Interact with patients professionally, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and chain-of-custody procedures to protect patients and specimen integrity
- Communicate effectively with nursing and lab teams to coordinate timely specimen collection and transport
Qualifications
- CA Phlebotomist (CPT I) License required
- Clinical lab assistant or phlebotomy experience in an inpatient acute care setting preferred
- Ability to work varied 8-hour shifts, including every other weekend and occasional off-hours
- Strong patient interaction skills and attention to detail
- Basic familiarity with specimen handling and lab safety procedures
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
- Knowledge of specimen labeling, handling, and transport best practices
- Familiarity with inpatient acute care workflows and patient safety practices
- Good verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and following protocols
