Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered respiratory assessments and implement appropriate therapies
- Manage ventilators and advanced airway equipment with attention to safety
- Deliver inhaled therapies, oxygen therapy, airway clearance and suctioning
- Monitor patient response and adjust therapy in collaboration with the care team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with unit protocols
- Participate in competency exams, skills checklists and specialty assessments
Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (required)
- Available and willing to work night shifts and alternating weekends
- Completion of required competency testing: Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam
- Up-to-date required health documentation: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB testing (PPD/Chest X-Ray as applicable), Varicella, Tdap, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen
- Physical/Health Statement as part of onboarding
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong respiratory assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Knowledge of ventilator management and airway support
- Infection control practices and safe handling of respiratory equipment
- Clear documentation and electronic charting habits
- Good communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Ability to perform under pressure during respiratory emergencies
