Shift Type: Night schedule, 3x12-hour nights per week: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Rotating days/nights possible depending on unit needs. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri dayshift; Week 2: 36 hours on-unit orientation with preceptor.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing care to oncology and telemetry patients with compassion and clinical precision
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to identify and escalate changes in cardiac status
- Manage vascular access including peripheral IVs, PICCs, ports and central lines safely and according to protocol
- Administer and monitor blood products and respond appropriately to transfusion reactions
- Support respiratory needs using high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP), and tracheostomy care
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and apply findings to patient care plans
- Safely manage chest tubes and post-procedural drains (Emerson / Pleur-evac) and collaborate with the team on wound and drain care
- Participate in rapid response and code teams, following unit protocols to stabilize patients
- Follow infection prevention and fall-prevention protocols to keep patients safe
- Document care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Ohio)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (meets unit requirement)
- Must meet experience requirements within the last 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
- Certifications required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, NIHSS
- Oncology experience preferred but not required — ICU/PCU backgrounds are welcomed
- Comfortable floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Previous travel experience is a plus but not mandatory
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and MedSurg Telemetry clinical skills
- Vascular access: peripheral IV starts, PICC, central line and port management
- Blood product administration and transfusion safety
- Cardiac drip knowledge (management and titration per unit protocols)
- PCA pump operation and management
- Chest tube management and familiarity with Emerson/Pleur-evac systems
- Respiratory support skills: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care
- ABG interpretation and application to clinical care
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and fall prevention practices
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps, GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners and PCA pumps
- Basic phlebotomy and arterial line management (preferred skills)
