Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (variable days; schedule set on a 4-week posting period; may rotate to days/nights per unit needs; weekends variable)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric surgical oncology and PCU patients
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy and IV medications safely, following oncology protocols
- Perform blood transfusions and manage complex infusion therapies, including insulin and heparin drips
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies
- Manage chest tubes and provide skilled respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
- Implement strict infection prevention and fall-prevention practices to protect vulnerable patients
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team — pharmacy, PT, respiratory, social work, and rapid response — to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning with empathy and clear communication
Qualifications
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty (PCU/stepdown or surgical/oncology) for clinical pass
- Clinical experience with chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotic administration, and infusion drips
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Comfort working in a mixed-acuity surgical oncology PCU with float expectations to other acute oncology units
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Chemotherapy administration knowledge and safe handling practices
- IV medication management and infusion pump competency (Alaris pumps experience a plus)
- Chest tube management and respiratory support skills (BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care)
- Infection prevention best practices and fall-risk management
- Ability to work in a busy surgical oncology environment and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with GE B450 monitors/telemetry systems, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
