Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg and Spine/Ortho post-op patients
• Perform rapid assessment and triage for Emergency Department presentations
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses closely
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize recovery
• Document accurate, timely patient records and handoffs in the charting system
• Maintain designated patient ratio (1:5) while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, discharge planning, and follow-up

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license (required)
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (required)
• Experience with Spine/Ortho post-operative care and Med/Surg patient populations
• Comfort working a 1:5 patient ratio and handling ED/acute situations
• COVID vaccination as required per Colorado state mandate
• Willingness to work holidays and provide shift flexibility as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and post-operative nursing skills
• ED triage and acute care decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Effective communication and patient/family education
• Teamwork, adaptability, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
