Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate neonatal care across two Level III NICUs (Mercy Hospital OKC and Norman Regional)
- Manage advanced ventilator strategies including high frequency oscillatory ventilation and jet ventilators
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize critically ill newborns with confidence
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including MFM and subspecialists to coordinate care
- Supervise and support neonatal nurse practitioners and other care team members
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance and faculty development
- Cover scheduled 24-hour clinical shifts (approximately 10 per month) and provide home-call backup as needed
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology (BC/BE)
- Active or eligible for medical licensure in Oklahoma (residency within the immediate local area is required)
- Comfort and experience (or fellowship training) with Level III NICU care, HFOV and jet ventilators
- Ability to work scheduled 24-hour shifts and provide collaborative team coverage across two NICUs
- No visa sponsorship available; US work authorization required
- New fellows and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
Education
- MD or DO

- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of neonatology and Level III NICU practices
- Hands-on experience or training with HFOV and jet ventilators
- Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to supervise and mentor NNPs and trainees
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation
