Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans that set meaningful goals and track measurable progress
- Deliver skilled direct therapy and group interventions, adapting approaches to each patient
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate care and maximize outcomes
- Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries clearly and on time
- Provide education and training to staff and caregivers to support carryover of therapy gains
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning
Qualifications
- State license in Speech-Language Pathology (Delaware license preferred or eligible to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
- 2+ years of clinical SLP experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical internships welcome to apply
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start
- Comfortable working in an inpatient/rehabilitation setting and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) required
- ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapy approaches and outcome measurement
- Excellent clinical reasoning and goal-writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions
- Ability to adapt therapy for varied ages and clinical presentations
- Competent with clinical documentation and regulatory requirements
