Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (typically 3 nights per week; specific days vary based on unit needs). Night shift (NOC) with required float to ICC and ED as needed.

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess oncology, hematology and sickle cell patients presenting to the Immediate Care Center with skill and compassion
- Provide evidence-based emergency nursing care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring and urgent interventions
- Administer blood products and manage central lines with meticulous attention to safety
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies in collaboration with the rapid response team
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and ED physicians to coordinate patient care and admissions
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and symptom management
- Float to the Emergency Department as needed, bringing your ICC expertise to support a high-acuity environment
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (state of practice) required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience (must meet experience within the past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience — HARD STOP (required)
- Epic (EPIC) charting experience required
- Certifications required: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NIHSS (stroke scale)
- PALS preferred
- Comfort with floating to the ED and working in a Level I trauma / stroke-certified environment
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
- Ability to handle patient ratios typically around 1:3-4
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and urgent care workflows for oncology and hematology patients
- IV therapy, phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
- Blood product administration and central line care/management
- Cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- 12-lead EKG acquisition and interpretation
- Stroke care and NIHSS assessment
- Management of sickle cell crises and oncology-related complications
- Use of Epic for charting, orders and communication
- Infection control, isolation precautions and PPE best practices
- Emergency medication administration and rapid response participation
