Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents: assist with ADLs, mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident status, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and fall-prevention practices to protect residents
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record system
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain infection-control standards and a clean, orderly environment
- Engage residents in daily activities and provide emotional support to improve quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) credential — ability to work in VT or NH preferred
- T-LNA training or equivalent experience is a plus
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
- Comfortable working some weekends and holidays as needed
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in resident care basics: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Knowledge of infection prevention, standard precautions, and safe patient handling
- Ability to observe, record, and report clinical changes clearly and promptly
- Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility EMR
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to build rapport with residents and families
- Time management and teamwork in fast-paced long-term care settings
