Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in a resident's condition promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and fall-prevention measures to keep residents safe
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the resident chart and communicate with the care team
- Support infection control and a clean, safe living environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing (New Mexico or applicable state)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire where required
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Ability to pass facility background check and required health screenings
- Willingness to work scheduled night shifts (Sunday–Tuesday) and follow facility policies
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance
- Vital signs measurement, basic clinical observation, and infection control practices
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Clear communication, compassionate bedside manner, and teamwork
- Accurate documentation and time management in a clinical setting
