Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Observe and document resident conditions, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Support meal service and feeding assistance while encouraging independence
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a healthy environment
- Build positive relationships with residents and families, offering respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in North Carolina
- State-required background checks and clearances as applicable
- Previous experience in long-term care or a similar setting is a plus but new CNAs with great attitude are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Basic ability to perform physical tasks of the role including lifting and assisting residents
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with resident personal care and ADL assistance
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Understanding of infection prevention and hand hygiene best practices
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
