Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist patients with mobility and safe transfers, promoting independence when possible
- Document care activities clearly and promptly in the patient record
- Support the interdisciplinary team by communicating patient needs and changes
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Build rapport with patients and families to deliver respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain state certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and basic patient care
- Pass a background check and meet facility immunization and health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in taking vital signs and observing patient condition
- Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Ability to provide personal care and assist with ADLs with dignity
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
