Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important observations during shift handoffs
- Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers using proper body mechanics
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to ensure each resident's comfort, dignity, and individualized care plan
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (North Carolina certification preferred)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a resident-first attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role including standing, walking, and assisting with transfers
- Previous experience as a CNA or in long-term care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with charting and accurate documentation practices
- Skill in safe resident handling and infection prevention procedures
- Ability to observe, assess, and report clinical changes effectively
- Compassionate bedside manner and teamwork-focused approach
