Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident changes, communicating observations to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers and repositioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
• Support mealtime needs, including feeding assistance and monitoring meal intake
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention best practices
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate effectively with the care team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance comfort and quality of life

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings as per facility policy
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills when working with residents and team members
• Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not strictly required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with personal care tasks and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic knowledge of vital signs and how to report changes
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Good documentation and communication skills — clear handoffs and charting
• A team-oriented mindset and the ability to prioritize resident needs
