Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend (travelers are added into self-scheduling; holiday minimum: 2 during contract)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and continuously monitor critically ill adult patients, making timely interventions to keep them safe
- Interpret telemetry strips and document findings accurately in EPIC
- Titrate drips (cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, etc.) following unit protocols
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula through ventilators and collaborate with RTs
- Provide excellent post-procedure care including post-stent and post-pacemaker management
- Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in bedside resuscitation and ACLS as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families with compassion and clarity
- Maintain compliance with unit policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nail policy) and pass required orientation competency checks
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (ICU/critical care preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Comfort and experience with EPIC charting
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and manage unstable cardiac and respiratory patients
- Driver’s license required at time of submittal
- Willingness to complete orientation pass/fail exam (90% required to pass) and adhere to facility policies
Education
- Active RN license required
- Nursing diploma/Associate degree or BSN (BSN status not required on job posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care nursing judgment and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring proficiency (GE monitors on unit)
- Experience with drip titration protocols and set-rate drips
- Familiarity troubleshooting ventilators and higher-level respiratory support
- Knowledge of common ICU diagnoses: trauma, cardiac events, stroke, sepsis, renal and heart failure
- Solid documentation skills in EPIC and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort floating to PCU/MedSurg when needed and adapting to 1:2-3 adult ratios
