Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for patients in labor, delivery and postpartum settings
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate monitoring equipment and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and initial stabilization as needed according to NRP and STABLE protocols
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiology and lactation consultants to support individualized birthing plans
• Assist in Cesarean births in the OR setting and support recovery/safe transfer of mother and baby
• Educate and coach new parents on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn safety
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow institution policies for patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with your profile)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Recent Postpartum/Mother-Baby (PP/MB) experience required
• Active American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Active STABLE certification
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license for assignment
• Perm address included in profile, supervisory signed reference from within past two years, and current skills checklists uploaded

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in labor and delivery nursing and postpartum/mother-baby care
• Proficient in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and STABLE stabilization principles
• Comfortable with infant warmers, fetal monitoring and related equipment
• Experience supporting Cesarean births and working with OR teams
• Strong patient/family education and lactation support collaboration
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
