Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments including bedside swallow evaluations and interpretation of modified barium swallow studies
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for adults and geriatrics with stroke, TBI, neurological disorders and more
- Manage trach/vent and ventilator-dependent patients, including Passy Muir valve trials and suctioning protocols
- Provide evidence-based dysphagia management, compensatory strategies, and diet modifications
- Document thoroughly in the charting system and complete required billing/documentation tasks accurately
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, therapy plans, safe swallowing strategies and home carryover
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, respiratory, social services, pharmacy, radiology) to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in discharge planning, reassessments, and concurrent therapy documentation and treatment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an SLP (acute care or adult rehab experience preferred)
- Travel experience required — you’ve worked assignments away from home and can hit the ground running
- Current BLS certification preferred
- Proficiency with electronic charting systems (facility uses any charting system; charting competency required)
- Experience with dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluation, Passy Muir valves, trach/vent care and MBSS interpretation
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric populations, including stroke, TBI, degenerative disease and trauma
- Strong patient/family education and documentation skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Dysphagia management and bedside swallow evaluation
- Conducting and interpreting modified barium swallow studies (MBSS)
- Passy Muir valves, tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent care
- WAB and BIMS assessment familiarity
- Oral motor techniques, thickening agents and compensatory strategies
- Clear, timely documentation and billing knowledge
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and float to acute floors
- Patient and family education, discharge planning and reassessments
