Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients within the medical unit
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocols
- Assess patients, document changes in condition, and report concerns promptly
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and transitions
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and ensure compliance with facility policies
- Promote a safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and professionalism; this assignment requires no pre-planned time off
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing
- Experience in a medical nursing role; correctional setting experience is a plus
- Strong attendance record and ability to commit to the scheduled days
- Current BLS/CPR preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required facility screenings and background checks
Education
- Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and basic clinical procedures
- Patient assessment and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a structured environment
