Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans focused on orthopedic and post-surgical recovery
• Deliver skilled OT interventions to improve ADLs, mobility, and functional independence in acute and long-term care settings
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education on recovery expectations, home safety, and adaptive techniques
• Document assessments, treatment progress, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help grow therapy services in a small hospital environment

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Colorado or eligible to obtain Colorado licensure
• Experience or strong interest in orthopedics, surgical practice, and long-term care; experience in a Critical Access Hospital is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and strong clinical reasoning skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Able to work Monday-Friday daytime schedule as outlined

Education

• Entry-level OTD or Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) preferred, or equivalent degree required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic rehabilitation and post-operative protocols
• Assessment and treatment of ADLs, transfers, mobility, and functional independence
• Splinting, adaptive equipment recommendations, and activity modification
• Long-term care interventions and resident-focused care planning
• Strong clinical documentation and outcome tracking
• Patient and family education with a compassionate approach
