Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care across the assigned unit
• Perform thorough assessments, create and update care plans, and document clinical findings accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate high-quality care
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and the Trinity skills checklist to maintain clinical excellence
• Maintain compliance with required licenses, certifications, and health screenings
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa license or ability to obtain state licensure)
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (required)
• TNCC (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification
• Ability to complete required health screenings: fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations
• Comfort with rotating schedules including every 3rd weekend and holiday coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Trauma nursing principles (TNCC) and acute care experience
• Stroke assessment and NIHSS proficiency
• Advanced cardiac life support skills (ACLS) and BLS competency
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Infection control best practices and adherence to screening/immunization requirements
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy abilities
• Willingness to complete specialty competency testing and ongoing skills validation
