Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients consistent with RN scope of practice
- Perform stroke assessments using the NIH Stroke Scale and escalate concerns promptly
- Maintain current BLS certification and apply life support skills when needed
- Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
- Participate in license and credential verification processes and maintain compliance
- Document patient care thoroughly and communicate effectively with the care team
- Adhere to all facility health requirements including drug screens, immunizations, and fit testing
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license (state licensure/verification required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) competency or willingness to complete NIHSS training
- Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
- Compliance with facility health requirements (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, etc.)
- Ability to work every third weekend as scheduled
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Familiarity with NIHSS stroke assessment and stroke care protocols
- Proficient in basic life support and emergency response
- Strong documentation and communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfortable completing facility-specific competency testing and checklists
- Attention to detail for maintaining required health screenings and credentialing
