Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional critical care nursing in the ICU, monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document findings accurately in the electronic health record
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions with skill and calm
• Educate patients and families with compassion, helping them understand care goals and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Illinois) — license verification required
• Critical care experience in an ICU setting (preferred)
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; TNCC and NIHSS listed as required
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Must be able to pass required health screenings: drug screen, fit test, immunizations, TB testing, and physical/health statement
• Clear background checks and verification of credentials

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for critically ill patients
• Experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity environments
• Ability to prioritize tasks and remain composed during rapid changes in patient status
