Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
• Assess and monitor patients' conditions, recognizing changes early
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Perform timely and thorough shift-to-shift handoffs and documentation
• Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate concerns as needed
• Support patient and family education with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia licensure or compact eligibility preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced working 12-hour night shifts
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in a busy night environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical monitoring
• Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation
• Triage and emergency response skills
• Time management and prioritization for night-shift workflows
• Collaborative communication with multidisciplinary teams
