Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions that help patients regain independence and reach meaningful goals
• Perform thorough assessments and create individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate patient care
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques, adaptive equipment, and home safety
• Maintain therapy equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow facility policies

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active state OTA license or eligible for licensure in California
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Clear background check and immunizations per facility policy
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
• Previous experience in rehab, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or OTA diploma)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills for adult rehabilitation
• Skilled in therapeutic techniques, ADL training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Comfortable with accurate, timely documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Good time management, organization, and patient-focused communication
