Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered therapeutic interventions under the supervision of the occupational therapy team
• Assist with assessments, document patient progress, and update care plans accurately
• Implement treatment plans to improve patients’ functional independence and quality of life
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to coordinate seamless care
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies
• Maintain professional documentation and timely charting in accordance with facility policies
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active state certification/licensure as an OTA in California or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation, outpatient, or skilled settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care and to follow established treatment plans

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program (Associate degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment for functional recovery
• Skilled in patient assessment, care planning, and documentation
• Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and various diagnoses
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and ability to prioritize caseload
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with infection control practices and facility compliance standards
