Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical and spiritual needs and set a compassionate plan of care
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide clear explanations and teaching to patients and responsible parties to support recovery and safety
- Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize, escalate and report changes in patient condition
- Document complete and accurate medical records to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Contribute to core measure compliance and quality initiatives that improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage conflict professionally and maintain a healthy workplace
- Participate in continuing education to remain current with best practices and clinical skills
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification (required)
- Operating Room (OR) experience preferred; comfort with perioperative nursing practices
- Experience across specialties such as ICU, Progressive Care or Cardiac services is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail and teamwork mindset
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and individualized care planning
- Implementing and evaluating plans of care and medical record documentation
- Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
- Multidisciplinary collaboration and core measure compliance
- Nursing clinical judgment to detect and respond to patient changes
- Familiarity with perioperative and specialty areas (cardiac, interventional imaging, recovery room, etc.)
