Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical and spiritual needs and set a compassionate plan of care
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide clear explanations and teaching to patients and responsible parties to support recovery and safety
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize, escalate and report changes in patient condition
• Document complete and accurate medical records to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Contribute to core measure compliance and quality initiatives that improve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage conflict professionally and maintain a healthy workplace
• Participate in continuing education to remain current with best practices and clinical skills

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Operating Room (OR) experience preferred; comfort with perioperative nursing practices
• Experience across specialties such as ICU, Progressive Care or Cardiac services is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and individualized care planning
• Implementing and evaluating plans of care and medical record documentation
• Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
• Multidisciplinary collaboration and core measure compliance
• Nursing clinical judgment to detect and respond to patient changes
• Familiarity with perioperative and specialty areas (cardiac, interventional imaging, recovery room, etc.)
