Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized OT treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function and independence
- Help patients regain skills for activities of daily living (ADLs) with compassion and creativity
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Document progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely in the charting system
- Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies
- Advocate for patient needs and assist with discharge planning when appropriate
Qualifications
- Valid California Occupational Therapy license required or eligible to obtain
- OTR credential (preferred) or equivalent clinical certification
- Clinical experience in occupational therapy settings preferred (acute, rehab, outpatient or home health)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset
- Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification as required by facility
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessing ADLs, mobility, cognition, and functional needs
- Proficient in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Experience with documentation and basic electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to adapt interventions to varied patient populations and levels of function
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and patient/family education skills
