Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and medication management for patients in a correctional mental health setting
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to the needs of adults in custody
- Lead and participate in case reviews and treatment planning with the mental health team
- Train and mentor staff during the 1–2 week onboarding period to ensure consistent clinical practice
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and follow facility policies and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with nursing, social work, and security staff to promote safety and continuity of care
- Respond professionally to crisis situations and contribute to a therapeutic, recovery-focused environment
Qualifications
- Clinical experience in psychiatry and mental health (experience working with adult populations preferred)
- Availability to provide weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) and attend 1–2 weeks of weekday training
- Comfort working in a correctional facility environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
- Willingness to complete facility-specific onboarding and any required background checks/clearances
Education
- MD or DO in Psychiatry (or equivalent psychiatric training)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in psychiatric evaluation and medication management
- Knowledge of mental health treatment modalities and crisis intervention
- Ability to train and mentor clinical staff
- Strong clinical judgment and risk assessment skills
- Clear, professional communication with patients and team members
- Familiarity with maintaining accurate medical records in institutional settings
